Acccent key?

I have a TW with accent (as in French) key, but the carriage does not advance when this key is hit.  Is that intentional, does anyone know?  I thought perhaps that it might be since one could type the accent and then the letter, at which point the carriage would advance normally.  Any thoughts?

Re: Acccent key?

Seems to make sense. I mean you wouldn't type the accent alone, so the carriage not moving kinda makes sense.

Re: Acccent key?

Beak, you and Shangas are right. Such a key is called a "dead key", meaning that it does not advance the carriage, and the purpose is as you guessed---to allow typing accent characters without having to backspace. In this case, yes, you type the accent first and then the letter and then continue.
