Replacing belts on electric typewriters?

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I've recently started added electrics to my collection and I've picked up a mint Hermes 10 I'm really excited about. It does have this minor issue with carriage returns that occasionally peter out and stop the machine in it's tracks, and I'm convinced that the loose belts are the culprit (there are two belts and the problem is magnified when I remove one, and they are just obviously quite loose). They are round, with a 1/8" cross section, and about 16 1/2" long if I were to cut and measure them full length. Obviously I can't order them from Hermes. Where would be a good place to go looking for replacements?

I've heard of bringing the old belt to a hardware store and buying the O-ring that's the closest fit. Never tried it, but sounds like it would work.
