Webster XL-500 question

Does anyone know the size of the little pan head slotted drive screws on the back of the typewriter are?  I’m missing one and need to order one.

Re: Webster XL-500 question

Your typewriter was made by Brother in Japan, so all the screw threads are metric.  I would guess that the missing screw would be a M3 thread.

Re: Webster XL-500 question

Thanks.  I suspected that because the M4 screw I found locally would not fit.  But I wasn't sure if I should order an M3 or M2.

Re: Webster XL-500 question

What is a good online source for these? I find the local hardware stores only have Philips head, if they have machine screws at all.

Re: Webster XL-500 question

I ordered from Bolt Depot.com.  Each screw is like $.05, but I ordered a packet of 100 for each for less than $3.00.
Of course, shipping is over $4.00.

Re: Webster XL-500 question

The correct size screws for the back of the Webster XL-500 is M2.5 x 4.5 mm.    The M3 was too big, the M2 was too small.  Bolt Depot.com has them in pan head.
