Pinion screw & plate for Remington Noiseless Portable

Hey All, I am fixing up an old Remington Noiseless Portable (mid 30-s model, serial #N88173), and I accidentally overtightened the main spring drum, stripping the plate it mounts to. So I am looking for a new plate (not sure of the name of this part), as well as the screw that attaches the Spring Drum , (Equalizer Pinion Screw?) I have some pictures here that show what I need:https://docs.google.com/a/imageandtype.com/file/d/0BxZ5X5VXFrFBbnB0eF9GcVBKUEU/edit?usp=drivesdk

And here is the whole thing:

Please let me know if you have any insight into where I might find these parts. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Pinion screw & plate for Remington Noiseless Portable

My advice would be to buy a tap and die for the size of that screw and repair it. If the thread is that badly damaged a machine shop should be able to put a HeliCoil insert into that plate and give you threads that are stronger than the original ones were.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.
