How much Royal trouble can there be...?

Alright, I know this concerns the same machine, but it's more of a mechanical problem rather than a cosmetic and I have the same problem for my Royal Portable.

So I have quickly noticed that while typing on the Royal 10, upon return, the typebars bounce a little when they strike the rest. It just takes a fraction of a second for it to settle, but this still severly limits my speed and the overall feel for me. If there a way to fix this? Would a simple strip of felt do the trick?

P.S. is there also a way to increase the mainspring tension of the Royal 10 without disconnecting it from the carriage and turning it manually?

A high schooler with a lot of typewriters. That's pretty much about it.

You can use felt. I usually try to get the most original material though. So if its something else other than felt, I would try to get closet to that. But if you want, go ahead and use felt.

Back from a long break.

Starting fresh with my favorite typer. A Royal Futura!

Felt willl work fine.
Just glue it right over the old stuff.
Did the same to my Royal 10
