Interesting turn of events

I recently bought an Underwood Four Bank portable on craigslist. The seller lives in L.A. but was in the area this weekend, so he brought it to the office. Well, he brought the wrong typewriter. Instead, he had an Underwood No. 5, a machine I've coveted for quite awhile. I wasn't vexed at all: in fact, I like this better. The seller is a collector, so it's in great shape and has a fresh ribbon. I typed with it: very smooth and nice. One of my best older standards, no doubt.

Re: Interesting turn of events

typset, that is an odd occurrence!
You handled it very well though.
I think I would have been rather more than a little miffed at having purchased one thing but received another.
I myself would like to have an Underwood 4 bank portable and I already have two #5s that I do like but, I wouldn't want another one in place of the 4 bank.
You have made the best of a challenging situation though so, good for you.
HABD!
