Maybe a stupid cleaning question...

So this may seem like a stupid question but do you go through your full cleaning "checklist" with every machine you pick up? For example, if you get a machine from a thrift store/garage sale etc. and the typebars move freely, do you still scrub out the segment with whatever cleaning solutions you use? I'm feeling a bit lazy on some of my new machines that seem like a new ribbon would be enough to start typing. Do you ever type on a dirty yet functional machine? Thanks, Jeff

I have an underwood 3-bank that is in dire need of work.  I typed a little bit on it for fun, but I still plan on doing the full servicing.
