Hello all

So I have had my hands on a fair share of typewriters. Never had one that I couldn't identify.
Until now, and it's killing me... (almost).
Why can't I seem to find the serial number on my new Voss ST32? Am I blind? First Voss though, so haven't seen one up close before. Anyone with a little help?
Thanks.

If the SM is anyway near a decent condition you'll be surprised. It's just build so well and can take the most feverish typing session you can possibly think of. Great choice and I look forward to hear what you think of it.

It seems shadowtypist is danish - as I am too - and the prices here are actually great. BUT getting the more sought after machines can be a little tricky since they have to have danish keys. The "competition" isn't overwhelming, but every time there is anything nice up for sale, the small but ressourceful world of danish collectors will fight to the death for them. But I'm sure it's even more difficult in Iceland?

It's a tough pick. I bought the 3000 purely for the looks back in the day and was surprised at the great action I got. Now, almost 15 years later, I have the SM9 aswell and I can not fathom why it took me so long to see the light. Sure the Hermes is beautiful, it really really is. And it types almost perfect (what is that if not very subjectively) but there is something about the SM9 that is just pure function. I feel as if the front leans toward me saying "come on... write something... you know you want to." The Olympia is for the typist, it's a workhorse and - I sincerely think - beautiful. At the end of the day it has to be a typer before anything else and that's why I'd choose the SM9.

I started - like a lot of others i guess - with very well known machines. But for their looks, not their performance. None of those would make the cut today i think.
I have a very special feeling for my black 1956 Erika Model 10 and it types like a dream. This would be my first pick.
Second would be my black Smith-Corona Sterling from 1946. Still a looker though.
Third is a maroon Olympia SM3.
Fourth (it's getting hard now...) would be my SM9 for pure performance (and I even like the looks of it, but maybe I'm just in love?)
So now I have to start choosing and I hate that. Should it be my 1938 Royal De Luxe, my green MP1, the SF, the mint Kolibri I bought for $12 or perhaps a Hermes? I really hate this and choose not to choose. Maybe one day I'll find out.

That's so neat! Yesterday I too got a 1946 S-C Sterling and an Olympia SM9, both in excellent condition. Now I wonder what I did wrong to miss a Kolibri. Based on my numbers, you paid about $55 for the Kolibri, eh?

Sorry for the late answer, but actually no:-) I paid 80 danish kroner for the Groma wich is about 12 USD so it was an absolute steal. The Sterling was around 40 USD and 20 for the SM9. Happy days.

A 1957 gorgeous Groma Kolibri in mint condition!
A 1946 Smith-Corona Sterling also mint!!
And finally the work horse that is my first SM9!!!
Pictures coming..........
Sum total was under 80$, so I'm ecstatic.
