Interesting.  I guess they did sell them with different typeface sizes.  I would be curious as to what other options were available, order brochures are hard to find.

The Smith Premier 2 is a great find!  I hear those early Smith Premiers have a very light touch.

I recently acquired a Smith Premier 10 with a wide carriage (size C), and it has a 9 character per inch typeface.  Was this a standard pitch for Smith Premiers (or, for that matter, other early machines)?  So far, all my pre-war machines have been standard pica (10 cpi).
