as key master explained in my other thread (http://typewriter.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=2805), the remington reporter was a sort of "spin off" of the post war remington torpedos that are quite well known. in order to renovate my machine i need a ribbon cover and two spool tops. i will also need a new ribbon but i feel as though that may be relatively easy to obtain for cheap.

the spool tops i suspect of being able to be from any similar model and still fit, as i have seen a few more common models on the internet which seem to have the same parts. everything else on the machine works as intended. i am enclosing two images below, for convenience:

this is what the intact model looks like:

i am unsure of what the process behind this is, so please be patient with me.

thank you! you have been very helpful.
i should start another thread in the parts forum soon. though due to living in australia it may be a little more difficult for me to purchase the replacement parts i need.
i am especially concerned for that ribbon cover...
if this model is as obscure as it seems it is, and as specific as its history implies, it may be difficult to find a seller

i have found a typewriter that is extremely similar
the remington 'reporter'
the bottom is black in mine, however
i think it was exclusive to australia
some examples are:

what has me confused with this model is that most of the same generation seem to have the spacebar embedded into the framing like this:

my sister and her boyfriend were scouring the streets for new furniture one day when they found this beautiful creature:
https://i.imgur.com/ArBCLK9.jpg
it has a number of features that to me suggests it came from 1955 at the earliest and 1970 at the latest. more or less a 1950s to 1960s timeframe but it seems that the 1970s is a possibility.
below i have labelled some parts so that you can easily see what features the typewriter has built in:
https://i.imgur.com/lh63fEw.jpg

the serial number is LX126818, but as you can see the "L" is hidden under the spool, which caused me some frustration while looking for the serial number on the typewriter database.
speaking of which, i do not think this model is on the typewriter database. either that or i could not find it.
https://i.imgur.com/XSdZami.jpg
there is some branding on the back and as you can see, a generous bit of text that says clearly it was made in holland
https://i.imgur.com/vczjtVR.jpg
there is nothing of interest on the bottom of the typewriter. you have undoubtedly noticed by now it is completely missing a top cover. interestingly, the spools are also note for concern. there is no ribbon loaded at the moment and i do not have one. but upon doing some research, most other typewriters have a sort of metal axle that the new ribbon can be loaded onto.

this typewriter does not have that. it just has these plastic spools that do not look like they are meant to come off.

if anybody knows what model this typewriter is or how i would go about renovating it, please do share.
i really do think it is quite pretty and all the parts work flawlessly despite the wear, tear and ages it has survived. all things considered i feel as though it is in excellent condition.
