Should I get a Varityper?

While looking at local typewriter listings, I came across what appears to be a 1930's Varityper for $180. The title explains my question. I read that they're like early word processors and do things like justify a right margin and proportional spacing. I think it would be extremely cool to own something like that.

Re: Should I get a Varityper?

I. Need. One. Badly.

Id try and get it for $150. If you can, BUY IT!! (I think, Ive never really seen one for sale)

Someone off of here would buy it off you I bet.

Re: Should I get a Varityper?

Well here's one thing I forgot to add. Or two really. With that money, I could either go get some platens recovered or get my Selectric fully serviced because now I've grown too emotionally attached to it. But I think I'll just end up buying it anyways.

Id buy it, cause both can be done at any time, but buying it cannot.

Re: Should I get a Varityper?

I would totally buy it if I had both the space and the money. But I have neither...
