Funny question! I would have to say a Royal Safari. I have one, and I really despise the thing. It may just need some work, but it doesn't seem like it does- it just seems like it is not very good.

I dislike all typewriters that have the backspace on the left side the keyboard.

Which Safari? There were a few very different Royal models that were given the Safari name over the years.

@Uwe Thats what I meant, forgot to say except the desktops. The desktops were built good, it was those ultra portables.

Hah! To me, having the backspace on the left is the logical spot for it (and the same holds true for the margin release). I guess it's what you're used to -- and I think American typewriters generally have the backspace on the left; margin release on the right.

I don't usually care where the backspace is. I've gotten so used to it being on the left, that I sometimes just hit margin release when going back to the Olympias and my computer!
EDIT: I realize that there is no margin release on a computer. I meant to say caps lock...

Helios/Ultima for sure - I have about 50 machines, and this is by far the worst of them. First, who's smart idea was to use THREE (!) shift keys for entering 80 characters, second, it is more workout than typing. 30 minutes, and you are already sweating heavily, hands are hurting, and you have not finished half of page yet. Not a surprise this was not a popular machine:

i don't know about worst but i'm not a big fan of the super portables with the plastic bodies. there is a hollowness to them that feels very unsteady when i type.
