    Another reason why I don't touch the escapement... One wrong move and then you have yourself a parts machine. And that feeling of foolishness that it's your fault it's broken (not that I would know anyways... ).

    A high schooler with a lot of typewriters. That's pretty much about it.

    Sorry it took so long to reply. Thanks for your input, everyone.

    So it is pretty consistent, always happening in the same place and always skipping 3-4 spaces, although once it skipped like 10 spaces. I wasn't able to reproduce that.
