Re: 2015 NaNoWriMo

Man, I've taken a couple of years off but I have the bug pretty bad this year again.  Maybe now that I have a machine in good working order its time to give it another shot.  I've participated four or five years I think and completed the 50K once.

if I do it I'd better approach it from the mindset that I won't get to 50K and that's okay.

This should bolster your approach: I just came across an interesting stat from last year's NaNoWriMo that cited there were 175,000 participants, and of those participants some 40,000 managed to reach the 50k word plateau. That's roughly only 23 percent of the participants. In other words, an overwhelming majority, 77 percent of those who participate, don't actually get to the 50k mark.

Excellent! Do you have a genre selected yet? Our ranks are slowly growing. Only 10 days until the crack of the starter's pistol will be heard...

Re: 2015 NaNoWriMo

Another weird question Uwe, do you use tabs for the first sentence of your paragraphs for NaNoWriMo? I know, I'm getting really nitpicking here, but I spend all day nitpicking and had to ask the question.

Smith Premier typewriters are cool!

Re: 2015 NaNoWriMo

I think the genre is going to be very ordinary fiction. Modern day setting. It's actually a story I thought would make a good film (well, a bad student film, anyway). Still thinking about 1st person versus 3rd person narration.
