I picked up a Royal Quiet De Luxe today for $10.
SN: A1612566. I believe it's a 1948 but please correct me if I'm wrong.
The machine seems to be functioning fine. (not sure of how the magic margin function works so I'm not sure if this is working). Feet seem fine. Platen has a few small cuts other then that is is passible.
I have never seen such a dirty machine. It also has quite the funk although it could be mostly the case it was in. (case is not repairable as handle is missing).
I will need to give this a huge cleaning. I am going to take this one apart as it is necessary. I have been wanting a project machine so this one will be it.
Any advice you can give me on dismantling this would be greatly appreciated. Greatly appreciated. Starting with removing the cover and carriage.
Video leads are also appreciated.

The only cover I really tried taking off was the back carriage cover. All you have to do its under the 4 screws on the back, but then you must also take off both platen knobs to get at the two remaining screws.
