Oh, I have plenty of ribbon, but the ink has dried on them. I could also get old ribbon at the flea market. I could even have nylon sheet cut into half-inch width, but the real problem is the ink. I've tried stamp ink. I've tried WD-40 to rejuvenate old ribbons. I've even entertained the thought of making my own ink by powdering some charcoal and mixing it with either glycerin, WD-40, or some other oil. I wonder if you can thin out road tar or pitch and make ink with that. I've even entertained using printer's ink. I know the stuff's expensive, but how many ribbons could one ink with it? Just thoughts I'm puttin' out there. But this I have thought of for years, that ribbon would someday be totally unavailable. We may all be rolling in some kind of carbon paper, making print somehow with that. Thoughts anyone, or am I the only crazy one in the room?
