Opinions: SM3 v SM7
Opinions please:
Condition being equal, which is the heartier, more pleasant, everyday typer. An SM3 from the late 50s early 60s or an SM7 from early 60s? Was the SM7 a step up in features?

Not to take anything away from the SM7, which is a very capable and enjoyable typewriter to use, I would opt for a SM3 given the scenario you described. Styling aside, I prefer the feel of the SM3's cushioned keys, but if you want a fully featured model to directly compare the SM7 with you should be looking at the SM4.
