Odorless mineral spirits vs. regular mineral spirits
Is there any real difference between the two? I’ve been using “green” odorless variety and I’m not sure it’s cleaning that well.

I don't think it makes much difference as long as the solution is softening the grime in your typewriter. I have used denatured alcohol and mineral spirits with success (I think only low odor versions are available in California). I have used acetone for really stubborn grime (be careful not to let it touch any paint or plastic).
