Because it's such an iconic "antique" typewriter, you regularly see insane asking prices for them around here, particularly at antique markets and shops. I think that I paid $25 for my first Underwood 5, but to be fair it was in need of a full rebuild and at the time I didn't fully realize just how many of them there are out there.
