Thanks. I gave it a quick read and didn't see any supporting evidence or sources mentioned. However, I'll have to read it again when I have more time as it's possible that I missed something. The website's author is Australian, which does add to the regional rebranding argument I made in my previous post.
The pronoun I has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.
