Where is the Carriage Retainer Plate Remington Noiseless 10?

I'm trying to get the carriage off of my Rem Noiseless 10. Something is binding in the track, probably gunk, there was also a squeak which I pulled my hair out trying to find, it turned out to be the spring drum. A small amount of oil fixed that. But the carriage is still binding enough to cause problems. I haven't had this thing apart to do any cleaning, in fact it's pretty dirty inside, though other than the carriage problems it works great. I don't want to take it to pieces, not until I have another working machine, then I'll give it a complete cleaning. Now I am only addressing problems as I find them, I can't have this thing out of service too long. THE CARRIAGE: I am following the instructions in my service manual, I'm at the step where I need to remove Carriage Retainer Plate 10-40880, but I can't find it in the diagrams. What's a Carriage Retainer plate look like? I did do some googling before I put up this post but didn't find anything
