I picked this up locally today for cheap. It's almost like new. Great typer, with a nice looking type that I believe is called Merit. My second Royal in 3 days. The other was an FP. This one is like little sister to it. Interesting "salmon" color with gray.

The Futura series are fun machines. There were four colour options at the time: periwinkle blue, mist gray, cocoa, and Americana. Periwinkle blue is the colour I see most often, and Americana the most uncommon. Cocoa machines like yours are somewhere between those two in popularity.

Cocoa? I guess maybe I could see somebody coming up with that name. But it's more of a salmon pink in real life.

The colour names are straight from Royal documents. I have a '59 model that's "meadow green" (below). There was also a "tri-tone gray" variation that might have been introduced in 1960.
Somewhere I have notes for the Futura model range and their available colours that I need to dig up because my memory isn't what it was. It's possible that some colours were exclusive to certain models in the range. For example, "Imperial Pearl Gray" might have been only available for the Futura 400.

Very nice. I like two tone paint schemes on typewriters.

You are going to get your 12 typewriters too quick and then what?! ;) Nice machine this one, I had one but for some reason I didn´t fall in love with it. I like the heaviness of the older models I guess.

I think I'm up to eight, so I have work to do.

If anyone is near Salt Lake City, Utah and looking for a Futura 800 in "cococa" color...this looks to be a really nice one on Facebook Marketplace...

The FB seller has an antiques shop in Utah. These photos are from their shop site (also on FaceBook).

That is looking GORGEOUS. My first two (got them at the same time) were gray and pink. Sold them both. I would love a green one. They type quite nice, but didn't quite tickle my typing fingers...not sure why. Usually they come with the Merit typeface which is very lovely.
