Thanks Kat!
Typewriterguy- wow! So, how many are you up to now?

Beautiful QDL, Spazmelda! I wish I could find one of those around here.

Heres my other new Royal flatbed!
Excellent packing, but still a few things got shuffled up a bit. Nothing a little JB Weld can't fix!
Also the linkages for the ribbon switch and backspace mechanism are missing, but a wire coat hanger would make a great replacement.

Two flatbeds?! I've never even laid my own eyes on one...

Well, the touch is very light, thats for sure!
You should see the new one now, its all polished, waxed, etc.

Really? I would have thought that the touch would have been a bit heavier or not as refined as the later Royal standards because it is from the early 20th century. But then again, I do enjoy the touch of my Royal 10 more than my later Royals.

Well, ever type on a Remington Standard 10?
Much lighter than that.
Every type on an Underwood 5?
Id say about 1.5 times as heavy as the touch on that.
But its lighter than I thought.

I can't seem to find anything other than Royals where I live... So means I must go out of state to find even a single Underwood. And I can't afford that
