Re: Crazy Happenings over on Shop Goodwill...

Well...I am glad there are still some bargains to be had on SGW.

This is my $ 9.99 "win" tonight.

It is an Olympia SGE - A62 machine.  Another $ 28 for S/H costs.

Fingers crossed that they pack that one extremely well.   That SGE should have a shipping weight pushing 27 kg (60 lbs), and I've personally watched mail/delivery people drop such heavy packages from waist height rather than lower it gently to the ground.

Ecommerce is becoming tricky.  Dont get me started on eBay, they're making selling a circus act

Re: Crazy Happenings over on Shop Goodwill...

My big Olympia arrived today, one day early via Fed Exp.

Packed well with foam peanuts of lots of big-bubble, bubble wrap.  Box was heavy-duty and very thick and reinforced along its outside surfaces with fiber-glass reinforced packing tape.  SGW took some of my suggestions to them.

No damage and even the platen knobs survived without incident.

Carriage moves well and the drive belt is even in good shape.

I have never seen so much "correcto-tape" dust inside a machine.  Got some clean-up work ahead of me.

So clean, one can eat off of it.

I have never seen so much Liquid Paper and correction tape "dust" inside of a machine.

Types great, is quite, and even the touch-control does something.
