Hi everyone -- Any opinions about Super Tech lubricant? Looking for something that does what P'Blaster does and doesn't stink (I don't have very good ventilation in my workspace), and is cheaper than LPS1 (which I have read about but not tried yet). It is a Wal-Mart brand, and I assume it is basically a cheaper WD-40, but there is so much chemical knowledge here wanted to ask before proceeding. Can't find it discussed anywhere, apologies if I am overlooking. Thanks!

Yeah, but P'Blaster and WD-40 are not lubricants---P'Blaster is a penetrating fluid and solvent and WD-40 is a water-displacing chemical. Any slipperiness they have is a coincidental byproduct and not designed in. The list of uses on the Super Tech can sound like vague sales reasons to buy it, rather than assurances that it will be suitable. WalMart is not a well-known chemical research and production company.
But maybe you are looking for a grease cutter and not actually a lubricant. Then consider Kroil and Krud Kutter even Simple Green and Liquid Wrench and others of that kind (and paint thinner and light fluid and turpentine and gasoline). They will all be chemical concoctions and likely to stink (though individual standards of smell do vary) and if they aren't so objectionable, it might well be because of a masking scent on top of whatever would be objectionable. The stink might be the price you pay for power. (Though I have read on the internet that a soak in CocaCola will remove rust, so who knows?)
So if you are serious about learning the ins and outs of such cleaning/lubricating aids and are not just a lazy dog, you should do proper research instead of asking a bunch of random strangers on the internet. Start here: and explore the various topics there and then go to the real manufacturers' Data Sheets for each product you are considering. Consider what they were actually designed for and what the recommended cautions are. I am sure there must be a Data Sheet for Super Tech Lubricant, though you might have to ask WalMart where it is. The DSes probably won't mention the smell though, so that's the point at which you can refine the research with a call to the internet.
Let us know what you find; there is a lot of interest in this.
