Brother Correct-o-Riter

Looking for a manual for this machine. Picked one up this weekend from Goodwill for $5; no cover but all is working. Trying to figure out what a setting is on the line spacing lever that's marked "R" -- I feel as though it must be obvious but, not to me! My first experience with a Brother of any sort, electro-mechanical or otherwise. Thanks.

Re: Brother Correct-o-Riter

R = Usually means to release the platen from the ratchet mechanism.

When you place the line spacer lever to "R", the platen should spin freely.

Thanks -- I wondered about that, but I couldn't figure out what the R stood for. Note that you have to hold the lever in that position -- it won't stay there by itself, as the regular spacing settings will. I appreciate it.
