I hope someone is happy with their new empty case for over $80 with S&H
I considered bidding when it was live... until I noticed the ACTUAL weight and realized it was just an empty case with a broken lock.

Good eye to check the shipping weight. ouch. Maybe it contains letters of historical significance!

I think a winner might have some recourse with SGW on this one.
This is their description of the item.
" Item Description -- Item description: typerwriter Lock is jammed "

I think it teaches a good lesson to stop overpaying for (nearly) worthless typewriter stuff.

A couple years ago, I took a chance on a locked S-C Holiday case that was listed at 12lb in weight. It cost me $6 + minimal shipping from Delaware. Turned out to be a very nice Tower President.

I hear they start out, " Dear Sucker..."

I have gotten lots of good deals with SGW. Usually in the $ 5-30 price range plus S/H which normally is very fair.
Last night I scored a nice S-C Electra 120 (with manual CR lever and carriage controls) for my Bid of $ 14 USD. It is case-less...but it will be gifted to a local friend. All in with S/H...I am at $ 26 for this 1960's Series 6 machine...and the "1" key-top might even hold a nice surprise.

After the final round of Christmas shopping yesterday, I stopped at a local Goodwill. It was a rare sight to see a typewriter on the shelves - this one also a nice-looking S-C Coronet electric. It was marked $24.99 (works). I lifted it into my cart and took a closer look - someone had bent 7 or 8 of the type bars nearly in half, as well as the tabs on the ribbon vibrator. I doubt it was in that condition when put on the shelf. Anyway, I put it back on the shelf. Sometimes humanity really disappoints me.
