Whoo boy!!  Does this take me back.  Maw got one of those Reader's Digest "Fix It Yourself" manuals.  You can fix darn near everything reading one of those.  Believe me.  I know.  I studied that thing to death from about age nine to now.  I even used it to partly teach me how to repair typewriters.  I can say that a lot of my early training on typewriters and typewriter repair came from that old book.  I still have it--and that thing's been luuuuuvved to death.
