Stained glass keys

On my quest to fully restore my KMG, I am now presented with the task of repairing the stained paper under the glass keys. However only some are damaged, as seen comparing D to F

I'm really not sure why this happened, perhaps it was the dunk cleaning I did back in November? (It really needed it, the tub was black afterwards...). But I have tried to remove the chrome or nickel rims by bending back the flaps underneath, though I could not pry it off for some reason? Is there anyway to disassemble a glass key? And if there is, how do I replace the damaged piece?

A high schooler with a lot of typewriters. That's pretty much about it.

Re: Stained glass keys

I'm curious, too. I have an Underwood 5 and a Royal 10 from the '20s with some keys that are now so dark it's hard to see the print. Anybody with suggestions?
