Yes, I'm learning that you have to swoop in with about 30 seconds left to go. Though, sometimes if the starting price is really low I'll put a tiny bid on, just to remind myself that i was truly interested in bidding.

That much? Really? I'm a little surprised, but if Beak didn't get it then I'm sure there must have been a couple of other collectors fighting over it as I can't see the casual typewriter buyer being interested in that rig.
