I for one am stunned at the asking prices for these types on eBay. Most are complete junk. I found my 1909 No.3 12" Standard at a local flea market for $25.00. All it needed was a replacement ribbon and a clean to loosen a few sticky keys and make it look nice and shiney. It works like new or a near new as anyone can get them to type these days, As I plan on using it, I had it serviced a few weeks ago and it types so much better. I suspect given a competent Underwood trained technician it would be even better as I'm not sure how many early Underwood's my local repair shop has even seen, so I do wonder how often they even see, or how familiar they are with a machine well over 100 years old.
