Richard Polt has this interesting 1957 Olympia product catalogue on his web site...for free download.

Thanks! I'd never heard of the Robust model before. If I ever see an SM-3 looking machine with black instead of chrome, I'll know what it is.

Good to have the color list, too.

And the section on the SG-1 has me wanting one even more...

At the end of the catalogue there is a listing of all the authorized dealers/shops.

For Idaho, there was even a shop listed in Caldwell on S. Kimbal Ave.  which is only 6 miles or so from our home.

That Caldwell location is now a very good, up-scale restaurant call "2C Grit"...which we have been to several times.

The building is old with a new facade added, but I can now easily see it being a typewriter shop in the 1950's.  The back and sides of the building are all brick and old from the early 1900's.  Probably had 2-3 other businesses in the same building at that time.

Rob,

On the TWDB, there are several Robust machines starting with models in the 1940's...and the last in the Gallery are from the SM3 line.  Nice to see photos of that actual machine.

Hey Pete,

Have you found something like this for the SM7 era?

Sorry John...I have not.

Have not even found a user-manual pdf-file, either.

Are you talking about the manual for the SM7?  Here's one:

Since I can't delete my post, it seems obvious upon re-reading that you meant the manual for the Robust, as the SM7 manual is rather easy to find...

Jim,  thanks for this.

It seems like a bit of the right-side of the pages was not scanned.  But glad to have it, now, anyways.
