What is vertical script? Is there a type sample available?

Vertical script is a script that does not slant over to the right, or doesn't slant much. An example here:

The skywriters serial is tucked inside the right side of the frame, you'll find it.

Did the Smith-Corona Silents exist prior to 1934? I was wondering since my S/N on that one is before the first one listed on TWDB.

Actually, it's on the outside of the frame under the carriage.
