Hi, I’m just getting into a variety of typewriters and amazed by the typefaces. Is there a database dedicated to this aspect of typewriters? I have a Hermès 3000 with Techno elite, a Corona silent 1950 with very interesting numbers, and an Underwood SX 150 from 1954 that has a stylish 2.
Another aspect is that my Underwood is presently being cleaned and restored (by me) and I need a new ribbon but the letters seem quite close to each other. It’d be nice to be able to see specimens of type in order to get the spacing right.
I also have a selectric III that I brought back to life. With those the typeface choices seem a little less mysterious. After using it for awhile I decided it was annoyingly loud...so my entry into manual typewriters. I keep saying I’m an enthusiast, not a collector. I hope I can keep my head and remain so.
