Typewriter Talk / L.C smith & Bros no. 5

Hello, I recently bought a broken LC smith 5 for $50 or so dollars. I have since gotten it functioning. Did I get a good deal? And would this be considered an “early” typewriter?

The Model 5 (1911-1923) is for the purposes of this forum not an early typewriter (I've moved this topic as a result to the Standard sub-forum). If it's complete and just requires cleaning and some small repairs, I'd say that $50 is a good deal. As a rule I rarely spend more than that amount for any typewriter, so it's a purchase I would have made.
