Hi Pete
The nylon ribbon is an endless loop like an 8-track cartridge that simply winds through again and again until the ink is used up. The polythene film ribbon is a one pass and it's used, but there's a lot of film in one of those cartridges. If you've never tried a film ribbon, the quality of the print is far superior to any fabric ribbon. I'm rather partial to the green film as it makes a nice change from boring old black. All the best,
Sky
We humans go through many computers in our lives, but in their lives, typewriters go through many of us.
In that way, they’re like violins, like ancestral swords. So I use mine with honor and treat them with respect.
I try to leave them in better condition than I met them. I am not their first user, nor will I be their last.
