I was about to replace the linkage between a key lever with the type bar with a paper clip when I discovered the original linkage hanging from the type bar.  That's good.

The problem is that according to the Phoenix Typewriter video I should shift the fulcrum wire in the segment to get the to free up the type bar to re-engage the linkage.  The problem is that the wire won't budge. 

Somehow the linkage fell loose with the wire in place.  How to I replace the linkage.
