I just picked up an Olivetti Underwood Studio 44 recently and It functions fairly well. The only issue is that the ratcheting arm on the platen sometimes catches on more of the advancing gears than it should. What I mean is, I have the carriage return set to advance the paper one line, but the ratcheting arm falls too soon and I end up advancing the paper four lines. It does not happen all the time, but often enough that it slows down the writing.
Does anyone know what might cause this?
Thanks.
