Re: Scheidegger Princess

Richard Polt got the User-Manual up on his web site.

It is in the S-section for "Scheidegger Princess-Matic".

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Looks like not all Scheideggers wore a beige suit: Vintage Princess 300 Typewriter by Keller U. Knappich (West Germany) - R26 | eBay

I'm guessing those key caps pop right off and you've got a classic Princess 300 with the usual branding and color scheme (with an original Scheidegger warrantee card).

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Rob,

I found this photo in the TWDB galleries when I was on the hunt for my machine.

Re: Scheidegger Princess

The risk of buying this one on eBay...one does not know if the layout is QWERTY or another...

As Clint Eastwood would say... " Do you feel lucky, punk ? "

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Ha! Good Dirty Harry reference.

I would love to find a set of the keycaps and the typing instruction manual.

I'm pretty sure the one I linked to would be QWERTY given that the warrantee is out of the London office. I'm a little tempted, but I'm trying not to get duplicate machines.

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Well the 300 on eBay UK went hammer down for $ 65 USD and another $ 70 in shipping if the buyer was in the USA.

Compared to the asking prices on eBay for other 300's, this seemed to be a decent price.

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Found this photo of another Princess-Matic with a type of name-plate on the ribbon cover that is not a water-slide decal.

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Here is the R. Messenger web site where I found the photo.  Lots and lots of great info. about the Scheidegger School and the various typewriters used for the program.

Re: Scheidegger Princess

Thanks Pet. Reading the comments on the earlier piece was almost as interesting as the article itself, with so many commenters who either attended or were employed by Scheidegger schools.
