Remington silent riter eleven 11

I’m working on an 11 with a loose escapement mechanism. I’m thinking taking the carriage off would give better access to the moving parts. So I need to know how to do that and I’d love to see a clear diagram of the escapement on this vintage 11. There was a post from 2015 about this model’s escapement (video even) but the part he highlighted that’s  visible with the carriage to one side is quite loose on my machine. Its floating around, so the escapement doesn’t engage and the carriage is free.

thanks for any help. Lynn

Re: Remington silent riter eleven 11

If you have a part of your escapement which is loose and pivoting around, making it not engage, you have a broken spring which will need to be replaced. Don't take the carriage off, take the case off and you should be able to get more access to the mechanism.
