Re: Hermes 10 Electric - In Coming...

If anyone is willing to spend $ 200 on an advertised "parts machine"...one is running on eBay.

It powers on and cosmetically it looks nice.  Might just need a pair of new O-ring belts...

I guess the Dirty Harry question would be..." Do  you feel luck, punk ? "

Belts are easy to get from McMaster Carr...

Re: Hermes 10 Electric - In Coming...

$200? And likely USD at that. That's four times what I'll normally pay for a decent-condition machine! In fact, I just grabbed a nice Commodore - one based on a Consul and haven't seen before -  and an Underwood 320 (Olivetti Lettera 31) for $70 CAD. It's more than I wanted to pay, but I really wanted to get a closer look at that Commodore.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

Re: Hermes 10 Electric - In Coming...

Couple of shops here in the USA had some nice Hermes 10 machines with asking prices of $ 685 USD and $ 650 USD.  Both seem to have sold (for something) as they are no longer on their web sites.  They were both for sale for around a year or so.  They were shop-owned machines and not consignment pieces, IIRC.

I paid $ 200 for mine...but it was working and the seller had a return-allowed policy.  It just needed a bit of a cleaning and new o-ring belts and ribbon.
