Recently my parents came to Thailand to visit my wife, daughter, and I. My wife and I took my parents to a statue shop they visit each time they come here. While parked in the only place that was wheelchair accessible we got our car wheel clamped by the local pretend police / mafia. While we were waiting for the imitation cop to show up to collect his bribe I glanced something black and shiny in a shop next to the statue shop.
At the front of the shop they had three standard typewriters that looked to be from the 1930s. One was a normal width, but the other two were wide carridge, for A3 size paper. On closer inspection they seemed to have most of their parts, but needed a good clean up; the most fun part of a new typewriter.
Now for the stupid me part. At the time I was fuming about our run in with the local mafia, so I told myself that I didn't want another typewriter. I talked myself out of it.
But now, a few days later, I'm thinking that I shoud go back and at least take a picture. I just hope that no one else collects typewriters in Thailand.

Well, at this point I'm curious as to which models they were, and the keyboards/typefaces they were fitted with. I've had too many snooze-you-lose moments in my life with typewriters and never assume any more that a machine I passed up will still be there after I change my mind about it. Good luck.

I remember the keys were all glass keys and they were all standards, not portable. I'm thinking this will be my Christmas present.
