WTB: Hermes 3000 right platen knob

Haha, yeah, I know, "good luck with that"... But if you have one, please let me know.

There were three generations of the 3000 with platen knobs that changed in shape and colour. Maybe you could add the manufacture year of the 3000 you have?

I will be sure to do that when it arrives. Thanks, I didn't know they were all different.

Re: WTB: Hermes 3000 right platen knob

Greetings

Yes I realize this is an older thread however, I've been doing a little tinkering with an online CAD program and came up with this as my first attempt https://tinkercad.com/things/d2DBiwjnzyg . Once I have tinkered it or completely redone it, I'll see what it would cost to have these 3-D printed by www.shapeways.com. All the best and I'll keep you posted,

We humans go through many computers in our lives, but in their lives, typewriters go through many of us.
In that way, they’re like violins, like ancestral swords. So I use mine with honor and treat them with respect.
I try to leave them in better condition than I met them. I am not their first user, nor will I be their last.

Wow, good work! That's really interesting. I can imagine how 3D printing technology might end up rescuing a lot of typewriters with missing or broken parts.
