That's a positive, and what I think is the right attitude. The 50k target number is just a carrot; the main thing should be to just sit down at a typewriter and get something started. Sounds like mission accomplished for you already...

Speaking of carrots, validation opened today and the end is only 11 days away. Nuts. I had intended to be long done by now, mostly because I'll be very busy during the last week of the month and won't have time to write. All of this means that I really only have another four days left...
How is everyone else making out?

a happy snot and glitter covered rhino. (not my snot, the rhino's)
we passed the magic number this morning, but there is still another half of the story to write

Mine isn't going as well as I'd hoped. I'm more able to Word vomit on a computer than a typewriter where I'm deliberate and plodding. I still prefer to type 9/10 times, it's just not the best for sprinting for me.
Fortunately, next week is wide open, so ideally I can close the gap a little before the end.

Congratulations!
It looks like your rhino knows how to have a good time. Are those Champagne bubbles coming out of its mouth? And how has your Classic 12 handled the work load so far?

Keep going! Type on! Type on!
The key element in your observation is vomit. There's an undeniable feeling of words being disembodied and ephemeral in a digital context - I would even go so far as to describe them as being disposible. However, when they are created with sweat and paper, one can't help but feel that each hammer blow is something akin to chiseling words in stone. It is that profound sense of permeance that makes the typewritten word carry more weight, and causes us to pause and reflect before comitting our thoughts to mechanical movements.

Thanks!
The classic 12 typed my winner's certificate, as it has a wide carriage and the 6 pitch type is perfect for it!
The whole novel so far has been typed on my Sterling 5 series, which has been great. But I have to admit it would be fun to write some massive words now.

Congratulations, Malole! Glad to hear that someone made it that far! I still need to sit down and type some more. Would like to get close to 3k words, but that will take some time.

Worked on it a little bit tonight. Got a couple of pages worth done.

I just started page 9 tonight. That's a lot considering all the other things that have been going on. However, I just stopped for the night because when I start making as many mistakes as I was, I know it is time to stop. I know what this story leads into; the episode of the show that I got the idea from; my story is kind of a prequel to the episode. Very little is hinted at in the episode, but enough that I wonder what happened and what the story was that led up to the episode's situation. I will scan what I have at work on Monday and update my numbers then.
