Re: Feel free to dislke!

Tbh the thing that really got to me about that video was all the snot and the sound of the guy's spit while he talks. I feel a little sick now.

Re: Feel free to dislke!

It's sad--akin to taking old treadle sewing machines apart, using the frame for an end table, and throwing the rest away.  I still have Maw's old Singer treadle machine she used every since she was a teenager.  She fixed it up herself.  The only thing I did to it was give it a reconditioned head I bought for $21.64,  I kept the old head for parts.  I will NEVER part with it--anymore than I'll "chop" keys for jewelry.  The only reason to remove keys from a typewriter carcass is to use them on another typewriter.  Now I've done that.  That's legal.  It means I have made one machine from two.  I also rob the carcass of other parts as well.  But in my 35 years of typewriter repair, I have almost always had a working typewriter when I got through.

Re: Feel free to dislke!

Pardon my ignorance, but there was something I didn't know:  It didn't occur to me that "keychopping" literally meant chopping with bolt cutters.  I thought they just pulled them off like I've done so many times with plastic keys off one typewriter and transferred them to another.  But, folks, NO!!!  This is different.  This is BUTCHERY in the darkest sense of the word.  I saw it for myself now.  I have NEVER done this.  Not even to a spare parts machine.  And, as for a comment on that site, I left one, plus one more dislike.
