Re: Best laugh in typewriter ads

It was just around, you know, 1 year away from 1940.

Anyways....

Is that suppose to be a type sample? Am I to believe they typed that on the rusted, ribbonless, bent keyed machine, and not on their computer. I don't even think the text size matches the paper scale. I also believe "super nice" is quite a stretch on this beauty. Oh wait, they have a transaction history of 2, so I totally trust them.

Re: Best laugh in typewriter ads

Hey, you could get a free parts machine. Buy it and then file a dispute for deceptive description. That's just wrong.

Re: Best laugh in typewriter ads

Here's a good one.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Old-Smith-Corona-Portable-Manual-Typewriter-with-Case-1950s-/371562197403?hash=item5682d5319b:g:DEYAAOSwDuJWz-QR

There's no picture of the actual top of the machine.  We see the case, the inside of the case, the bottom of the machine, and a type sample, but what's up with the top?!?

Disgusting and intentionally misleading. And it should be reported to eBay. Of course the seller will probably point out that there was no claim that the text on the page was produced by the typewriter being sold...

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

Re: Best laugh in typewriter ads

His "grandfather used this Corona typewriter while at Yale (Class of 1929)." That must be why it is $700; the previous owner was a time traveler.

Hold on a minute, weren't those produced in the 30s or 40s?

Exactly.

A high schooler with a lot of typewriters. That's pretty much about it.
