I have two standard Everests that I plan to make one from. Does anyone else have one, and if so, what do they think of them in terms of design and useability? Mine has a tag on the back that says, "Made in Italy." I have not done much reading on these machines, and have only seen two. Have other countries made them?

Everest is an Italian make that was based in Milan. It's history is quite complex - many changes of ownership and names - and the company produced its last machines in '62 when Olivetti bought them. I don't know what Olivetti ended up doing with the company, but it would be interesting to find out.
I don't own an Everest standard, but I do have a couple of their portables and really like their design. For some reason the portables tend to get lackluster or poor reviews, which I've always found strange given I find them to be really nice typewriters to use. The company made a lot of typewriters, but few seem to have been imported into Canada, so I'd like to see a few photos of your machines.
