The key shape and how close the layout is is important,too, with the Hermes being great for me.  The depth of strike also seems important, and the longer strike of the Alpina was a bit of a distraction, although I typed faster, and with less errors on it than on any other machine.  Might keep that Alpina, come to think of it, due to the high speed typing it seems to provide.

Hmm, 'flaky' and 'iffy'. Two brilliant describing words for the feel of a typewriter! I feel like I'm on it...
