I am looking for the tiny U-shaped flat metal spring (I think you would call it a spring) that fits on the pivot of the Shift-Lock on an Underwood 5. I believe the same part was used on the shift lock of the 3 and 6, and possible some later models, I am not sure.

If I'm not mistaken, this little leaf spring has been on all Underwood manual upright typewriters to 1959--all the way to the Touch-Master series. The Touch-Master series typewriters started used a small coil-type spring for the same purpose. If you don't find one right away, we can make arrangements for me to mail you one. Let me know.
