TW explosion in Australia.

Just looking through local Australian 'garage sale' sort of site, and notice a massive increase in the number of TWs for sale this week - about five or six times the number of new listings under 'typewriter' than usual.  Has anyone noticed a New Year boost in the number of folk selling TWs after Christmas, or is this just some inconsequential kink in the curve?  How is it in your neck of the woods?

Sincerely,
beak.

Re: TW explosion in Australia.

There is typically a spike in local ads prior to Christmas, and I know of at least one collector who usually only sells machines during that period. Otherwise, I think that the number of machines being offered for sale is fairly steady, which is to say there are a lot of them.

Is it possible that the spike you're seeing is from one seller? Whenever there's a sudden influx of typewriters on the market in my area it's often a collector trying to unload a dozen machines at the same time.
